Year 11 - Last day Monday 15th June

Dear Parents/Carers,

I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to the Class of 2026 for the exemplary way they have conducted themselves throughout the examination period. Their attitude, behaviour, and commitment have been outstanding, and they have served as excellent role models for our younger students. They have demonstrated genuine maturity and have been a credit both to you and to Outwood Academy Hindley throughout this important time.

I would also like to thank you for your continued support in ensuring that attendance has remained strong during these final weeks of the academic year.

Monday marks our Leavers' Event, providing an opportunity for us to formally say farewell to the Class of 2026 and celebrate their time at Hindley.

Students will sit their final Physics examination that morning. Any student wishing to have their school shirt signed should bring a spare shirt, as signed shirts will not be permitted in the examination room.

On the final day, we will bid farewell to the Class of 2026 before allowing students to leave early via the Sports Hall exit.

Modern Foreign Languages examinations will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. Students who are sitting these exams are welcome to remain in school on Monday afternoon to revise with their Spanish teachers and make use of the support available.

We will be holding our annual Prom Breakfast in school on Wednesday 15th July 2026 at 9:00am.

We would like to invite all Year 11 students, along with their parents/carers, to join us for a final celebration of their time at Outwood Academy Hindley. Students who attended the prom are encouraged to wear their prom dresses or suits, and we would be delighted to welcome those who did not attend the prom as well.

A breakfast buffet will be provided, giving students, families, and staff an opportunity to come together and celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026 before they begin the next stage of their journey.

As in previous years, we will be collecting donations of school ties. These are regularly loaned to students who require them, and we would be very grateful if you would give your child permission to donate any unwanted ties.

Similarly, if you have any items of school uniform in good condition that are no longer needed, we would greatly appreciate any donations. Blazers and PE kit are particularly valuable and are regularly provided to students who may benefit from additional support. Any contributions would be gratefully received.

Thank you once again for your ongoing support throughout your child's time at Outwood Academy Hindley. We look forward to celebrating the achievements of the Class of 2026 and wish them every success in the future.
