Nut Aware Site

Dear Parents and Carers,

 

Outwood Academy Hindley is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all members of our school community. For this reason, our Academy operates as a ‘nut aware’ site.

We have students, staff, and visitors in our school with severe, life-threatening nut allergies. To protect them, we ask that all parents and carers ensure that students do not bring nuts or nut-based products onto the Academy site. This includes items such as whole/chopped nuts, peanut butter, hazelnut spreads (e.g. Nutella), cereal bars containing nuts, and satay products.

We also ask that you remind your child not to share food or snacks with peers while at school.

Whilst we cannot guarantee that the Academy will be a completely allergen-free environment, we aim to reasonably minimise the risk of exposure by promoting awareness and remaining vigilant.

Our catering team works closely with families to ensure safe dining options. If you would like a copy of the Academy menu or need to discuss specific dietary requirements, please contact our Catering Manager at enquiries@hindley.outwood.com.
