Prom 2026

Wed 21 Jan 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

With only 12 school weeks to go until the GCSE examinations begin, we are entering an incredibly important time for our students. We know how hard our Year 11s are working, and we want to ensure they stay motivated and focused as they head into this final stretch.

To celebrate their journey and all the hard work still to come, we are delighted to announce that the Class of 2026 Prom will take place on Tuesday 14th July 2026 at Rivington Barn, Horwich.  Further details will be sent out in due course.

The Prom is a special reward for the dedication and discipline shown during this intense academic season. Today, students have received their "Route to Prom" cards, which they will use to track their progress. To secure their place on the guest list, students will need to meet the following standards between Monday 19th January and Friday 3rd April 2026:

1. Showing Up & Stepping Up

Being present and prepared is the best way to feel confident for the exams. We are looking for:

  • Attendance: Above 92%.
  • Punctuality: No more than 4 "Late to Academy" marks.
  • Behaviour: Maintaining our high standards (no consequences above a C5a).

2. Staying on Top of Revision

To help them stay exam-ready, students must keep up to date with their core tasks:

  • Maths: 100 Day Challenge Tasks.
  • English: 100 Day Lit Challenge Tasks.
  • Science: All assigned Educake Tasks.

3. Getting Involved (Enrichment)

A balanced schedule is key to wellbeing. We ask that students attend two enrichment sessions every week. To keep their eligibility on track, please remind your child to have these logged and signed off by a member of staff on their card.

💡 The "Safety Net"

We know that sometimes things don’t go perfectly. If a student falls slightly short of the standards in Section 1, they can earn their invitation back through extra commitment:

  • 10 Extra Enrichment Sessions = 1 Standard Cleared

🛑 Important Note on Suspensions

Please be aware that students who receive a suspension will be removed from the list of students automatically invited to the Prom. This status will remain until they can prove they can be trusted to represent the Academy in an off-site social setting. This will be a key point of discussion during the formal reintegration meeting.

This 12-week countdown is all about building the habits that will lead to success in the summer. We are so proud of the progress our students are making, and we truly look forward to celebrating with them all on 14th July once the hard work in the exam hall is done.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Yours faithfully,

The Academy Leadership Team
